4 major issues

The organization of public health
Genomic medicine is revolutionizing the patient care pathway, and therefore the organization of public health. Routine genome sequencing will allow patients more personalized diagnostic and therapeutic care. This will initially concern patients affected by rare diseases or cancers, then ultimately, patients suffering from common diseases.
Scientific and clinical aspects
This involves strengthening the chain going from the exploration of pathologies to the therapeutic benefit for the patient, including the creation and linking of databases that are by nature heterogeneous and multiple.
The technological aspect
Information and communication sciences and technologies are expected to converge with life and health sciences, with the ability to acquire, store, distribute, match, and interpret this massive and multiple data being at the heart of this convergence.
The economic aspect
The issue is finally and eminently economic both in terms of cost for our healthcare system, but also the opportunity to develop a new industrial sector.
